btt2 “This can be a quick one. Don’t take too long to think about it.    Fifteen books you’ve read that will always stick with you. First fifteen you can recall in no more than 15 minutes.”

In no particular order, here they be:

The Handmaid’s Tale by Margaret Atwood
Tam Lin by Pamela Dean
The River Why by David James Duncan
The Secret History by Donna Tartt
Gone with the Wind by Margaret Mitchell
The Moon is a Harsh Mistress by Robert A. Heinlain
The Plague Dogs by Richard Adams
The Sunne in Splendour by Sharon K. Penman
An Old-Fashioned Girl by Louisa May Alcott
The Little House Books (I can’t just count one!) by Laura Ingalls Wilder
Persuasion by Jane Austen
The Eyes of the Dragon by Stephen King
The Rules of Attraction by Bret Easton Ellis
Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte
The Good Earth by Pearl S. Buck

There are classics of children’s literature and some for adults, science fiction and dark fantasy, humor and horror, and even what some might call pop culture trash. But they are all books that have stuck with me since I first read them, in many cases for at least a decade now.
